If you look at picture one, it is close to impossible for you to spot the difference, but a logo is used on multiple places, and so needs to be enlarged to fit a poster or scaled down to fit small merchandise such as pens.

The cracks in an unprofessional logo show when the image is enlarged to fit larger signboards etc. Our job was to re-do the logo to make it reuseable on all sizes.
